Universal Standards
In 2003 Brazil adopted the Universal Standards for cotton, which are recognized world wide as the basis for cotton classing and quality assessment.
During the last few years, Mato Grosso has invested significantly through out the AMPA membership, in the form of cooperatives, grower members and other associates, in conjunction with investments from the international recognized classing organizations, all directed to classing our cotton with latest testing instruments, often referred to as HVI.
The Mato grosso Growers have invested in this modern technology knowing that today the information derived from such instruments is indispensable for the today’s tectile industry, as well as being a very important guide to following the results in the field, as well as the quality of ginning.
Today therefore all buyers can obtain instrument test data on cotton purchases, as an alternative to the traditional hand classing.
